If available to you, placing such large files on a Web server can
work really well. Only a link needs to be e-mailed, the recipient
can grab them at his/her leisure, and there is no special software to
install.

(I see that you're posting also to magnet -- on an osx mac, just turn
on Web sharing, and place the file(s) in /Library/WebServer/
Documents/ .)
