   An additional software tool you might consider trying is Prosoft's
Data Rescue II <http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php>.
This tool been credited with salvaging data on some badly hosed,
otherwise un-mountable drives.

   Prosoft offers a trial version for download from their website. I
haven't checked to see what limitations there may be on that version,
but it may perhaps be worth looking at.

   Another option might be to contact tech support at the company
whose software or hardware was used to create and maintain the
mirrored volumes. Perhaps there are some recovery options specific
to their product that they may be able to suggest, as well.

   Finally, if the data is sufficiently valuable, a data recovery
service bureau might be a third - likely both expensive and effective
- option. One such company, among several suggested over the last
several years on this list and other campus computing support
maillists, is DriveSavers:
