   As an aside to this thread, a commercial product was released
yesterday (2005-10-24) whose primary claimed benefit is making it
relatively easy to convert many video sources to the specific formats
playable by Apple's new video-capable, fifth-generation iPods:

   This is likely the first of a number of applications for making
content available on the new iPods; there is at least one freeware
application (in beta) for this purpose listed on the Mac download
sites, as well.
