CalAgenda starts using the CalNet directory tomorrow

Hi all,

Our apologies for the duplicate postings...

Beginning tomorrow morning, Tuesday, September 13th, CalAgenda's
information about its subscribers - names, email addresses,
departments, and the like - will come from the campus's central
(CalNet) directory, rather than being maintained separately in
CalAgenda.

Starting tomorrow, whenever a subscriber updates their entry in the
campus directory, their CalAgenda directory information will
automatically be updated to reflect that change.

For most subscribers this will be a seamless change. We expect the
most problems will occur for subscribers whose User Name (login) has
changed due to their name being different in CalNet. (See
<http://calagenda.berkeley.edu/news/calnet-synch-faq.html#different.name>
for further details.) You may also get a few questions from
colleagues discovering these new names in existing meetings and
groups. We anticipate that this change will go smoothly.

No data will be affected
----------------------
This application does not change any meeting data in accounts. It
will only affect the directory information for an account - name,
department, email address, etc.

If you have questions

If you have a question regarding your account, you can contact your
CalAgenda support provider. Look up your support provider at
http://calagenda.berkeley.edu/help_training/support_providers/.

Some questions regarding this project are answered at
http://calagenda.berkeley.edu/news/calnet-synch-faq.html.

The CalAgenda account administrators and technical support folks have
been of tremendous help to the CalAgenda team in trying to make this
transition as smooth as possible for everyone.
