Thanks, Mikael. That's definitely a good general purpose
troubleshooting technique.
With the advent of the requirement for secure connections to CalMail,
there are some new issues that now might be implicated in problems of
this type. Appended below is a note I sent to Eric regarding these.

-- Is your Eudora user a CalMail user? If so, be sure you look over all four of the troubleshooting articles at: http://kb.berkeley.edu/kb403#troubleshooting As noted in the last two articles, this could be a Keychain issue, rather than exclusively a Eudora issue. You might check the user's keychain to make sure a) it is named exactly "login"; b) it is designated in Keychain Access as the Default Keychain, c) it is unlocked, and d) that it contains the CalMail security certificate. If all these base are \b\e\l\o\n\g\ \t\o\ \u\s\, uh, covered, then you might also try deleting the CalMail cert from the Keychain, adding the Verisign keychain, and then checking or sending mail in Eudora, which should automatically add a fresh copy of that certificate to the Keychain. If this isn't a Keychain issue, then perhaps Eudora's log may reveal some clues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following was automatically added to this message by the list server: For information about MAGNet, its meetings and events, and its mailing list, including information on subscribing and unsubscribing, see the MAGNet Web site at <http://magnet.berkeley.edu/>.Received on Tue Apr 5 13:18:15 2005
