Worth a try: removing Norton AntiVirus (NAV) outright, then
re-installing the 9.0.2 distribution from the WSS Software site.
(After doing so, you can then use LiveUpdate to update NAV to 9.0.3.)
Here are two, increasingly drastic, ways to go about this:
1. Use the "Symantec Uninstaller 1.0.1" utility, included in
Symantec's and the campus's distribution of NAV, both on
the WSSG Software site and the C@B 2005 CD.
After this, you can download and reinstall NAV 9.0.2 from the
WSS Software site.
2. If this uninstall and subsequent reinstallation of NAV still results
in LiveUpdate displaying a subscription renewal notice, try running
the NortonUninstaller script to perform a complete uninstall:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/num.nsf/docid/2002110814042611
Using this script is the "nuclear weapon" approach to removing
Symantec products.
After this, you can download and reinstall NAV 9.0.2 from the
WSS Software site. You should also reinstall Norton Personal Firewall
3.0.2, either from the C@B 2005 CD or from the WSS Software site.
In either case, please share your results after doing so.
Thanks,
