Otis College of Art and Design
Otis College offers a BFA in various visual arts disciplines and
utilizes current Macintosh and Windows computer technology in their
instruction. Academic Computing Services oversees 9 computer classrooms
and 4 open-access labs on two campuses. The Technical Manager is
responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the
academic computer systems and software utilized in the labs and
classrooms. This includes the customization of MacOS X systems using
Cloner, NetRestore and NetBoot, MacOS X Server, XServe and XRaid
administration, DHCP and Apache. Additional systems supported include
Windows 2000 Advanced Server, DNS Server, DHCP Server, KeyServer and
Print Manager Pro. The Technical Manager also supports the
configuration of the color print services which include Fiery and
ColorBurst Postscript RIP environments. Knowledge of graphic design,
illustration, motion graphic and video production software is important.
Preferred 4 year degree in computer management or visual arts field.
Minimum 2 years experience in computers support environment within
higher education with emphasis on Macintosh systems. The ideal
candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks and oversee various
support staff in a diverse, creative academic environment.
