Some users of Norton AntiVirus for Mac OS X may start encountering
"Your antivirus subscription has expired" messages when using
LiveUpdate to update their virus definitions.
This issue will affect users who have installed Norton AntiVirus
versions 8.0.x or 9.0 under Mac OS X at least a year ago. It may
also affect users of version 9.0.1.
The solution is to update this product to version 9.0.2 using the
installer available on the Connecting@Berkeley 2005 CD or on the WSS
Software website, as described below.

-- Mac OS X: Norton AntiVirus 9.0 or 9.0.1's LiveUpdate feature reports "Your antivirus subscription has expired" when you attempt to update virus definitions (August 18, 2004) Solution: This issue is resolved by installing the Norton AntiVirus 9.0.2 update, which is available on the Connecting@Berkeley 2005 CD and can also be downloaded from the WSS Software website (http://software.berkeley.edu). Details: Norton AntiVirus for the Macintosh has a built-in one-year expiration period, which begins when you first install it on your computer. After expiration you can no longer update Norton AntiVirus with new virus definitions using its LiveUpdate feature. The message that LiveUpdate displays after expiration is similar to the following: Your antivirus subscription has expired. In order to continue receiving virus definitions, you must buy a new subscription key. Installing the 9.0.2 update to Norton AntiVirus 'resets' the expiration clock for an additional one-year period. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following was automatically added to this message by the list server: For information about MAGNet, its meetings and events, and its mailing list, including information on subscribing and unsubscribing, see the MAGNet Web site at <http://magnet.berkeley.edu/>.Received on Wed Aug 18 11:57:59 2004
