Information Systems and Technology is currently conducting
technical acceptance of a new high-reliability, modern email
system, which is intended to replace the current UCLink system
and to enhance campus email services.
If all goes according to plan, technical acceptance will conclude
in the fourth quarter of 2003 and migration to the new system is
expected to begin in December 2003. You can find out more about

We encourage you to send mail to bert-feedback@uclink.berkeley.edu
with your suggestions or questions about the new email system.
In particular, be sure to let us know if:
o There are specific enhancements you'd like to see included
in the new email system.
o Your department offers any existing services which you're
concerned may be affected by the new email system.
o Your department would like to migrate its mail service to
the new server.
o Your department is planning any new services within the next
two years which might have an impact on the new email system.
Examples include new applications which might generate many
messages, new services whose customers will require many new
email accounts, and even entirely new uses of email.
o Your department programmatically -- not manually -- accesses
UCLink for account and mailing list management.
