To echo Dan's comment, Other World Computing
<http://eshop.macsales.com/Accelerators/index.cfm> is one vendor from
whom we've occasionally purchased several CPU upgrades over the
years, so far with uniformly good experiences. They sell many
different vendors' products, as well as some new and used Apple brand
products.

Other World's site includes a selector menu which helps you
identify which processor upgrades are compatible with your specified
model. Their site also frequently offers fairly extensive technical
specs, and sometimes even links to reviews and detailed installation
instructions, for various upgrade products. It's a handy place to
begin researching an upgrade purchase.

   <http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/> is a non-vendor site which offers
reviews and reader reports on processors and other Macintosh upgrade
components. (It's more or less the Macintosh equivalent of PC sites
like <http://www.tomshardware.com/>, <http://www.arstechnica.com/>,
and the like.) And DealMac (example search:
<http://dealmac.com/search.html?search=zif>) offers links to special
deals on processor upgrades and replacements.

P.S. Noticed that Other World is selling 233 MHz G3 ZIF CPU pulls for
$9.95! These might in an emergency be installed in a Blue & White G3,
Beige G3, etc. suffering from a flaky processor.
