Hi folks,

I've been experimenting with ICal syntax so I can build an internal
scheduling app. In the process I thought I'd try to make something
useful...

I have created individual ICal .ics files for every class listed for
Spring 2003 (based on the 6,053 classes that had schedules posted as
of yesterday). To add a class to your ICal just use the url

webcal://w20.aad.berkeley.edu/ical/

and then the course control number and then .ics

e.g.

webcal://w20.aad.berkeley.edu/ical/42709.ics

will subscribe you to INFORMATION SYSTEMS 211: Group and
Organizational Approaches to Information (both weekly as well as the
final exam).

NB: I've only checked a few examples, so I'm not sure this is ready
for widespread use!

There is also a UCB Academic Calendar

webcal://w20.aad.berkeley.edu/ical/UCBAcademicCalendar.ics

though I think someone also posted one (officially?) on ICalShare as well.

Any feedback on how this works for you as well as any bugs you
encounter are appreciated!

Cheers,

Tomo

p.s.
Along the way, I learned that befitting OSX's UNIX core, ICal .ics
files need the UNIX LF line delimiter rather than Classic's CR.
