Kin,

actually, the drive should open whether there is anything inside or
not (void where drive is slot loading of course).

I use a MacAlly iKey with a Quicksilver G4 (no button) and F12 is my
tool of choice for both Mac OS X and 9 (though 9 requires the use of
a seperate application being assigned to the F12 key).
