Hi All,

Using: Current Macintosh models (without a physical CD eject button)
running OS 10.2.1 (or OS 9 for that matter)

How does one open the CD tray on a PowerMac or iMac if one is using a
keyboard other than Apple's?
(I know, I know, Apple doesn't support 3rd party
products...but....until Apple makes an ergonomic keyboard what's
a user to do?)

I know the four ways to open the drive if a disc is in the drive: 1)
Media Key on Apple Keyboard 2) drag to trash 3) F12 (on powerbooks)
4)hold down the mouse button on startup

BUT.... what if you want to open the drive WITHOUT a disc in it---
ostensibly to put a CD in the tray?
The only solution I've been able to find is to launch iTunes and use
the software eject button-- what a pain!

I've noodled around TIL/KB but didn't find anything pertaining to my
inquiry. Got any ideas?
Anyone know of an .app that might accomplish this?

Thanks,

KIn
