I have a B&W G3 (ATA drive) that apparently has a damaged disk
(internal). I am able to start from a CD and it seems to be starting
OK until the point that the Finder starts to mount the damaged disk.
Even when started from a CD, this results in a system error crash.
I'd like to try getting to the disk with a disk utility, or at least
just to reformat the disk if it isn't recoverable, and it seems like
I need to prevent the Finder from trying to mount the disk.
So the question is, does anyone know a way (keyboard keys to hold
while starting up?) to prevent the Finder from mounting a disk?
Or any other ideas on how to get around the problem.
