    Hello.

I have trouble with a connection between my new G4/400 running 9.0.4
and an old Apple Color OneScanner 1200/30.

I added a SCSI card (Adaptec 2906) to the G4 to use with the scanner
and the APS tape backup (w/retrospect) we use here. SCSI scans show
the scanner and tape drive. The tape works fine.

Apple's Tech Support pages says that I should be using Scanner
extension 4.3. But when I do, it won't load (starts up with red X).
When I use Scanner v4.2 (which the site says is only for use with
original b&w Scanner) it loads fine, but when I attempt to scan, I
get a message that says the scanner isn't attached, carriage may be
locked or if a feeder is attached (it isn't) there may be a paper jam
(-30002). Can't get around this message!

I know this is pretty specific to my configuration, but if anyone has
any other suggestions I can try, please pass them on.

I wanted to use the Apple Tech Exchange (never have before) but from
what I see, it is read only for another month while they change
    formats for this site.

Thanks in advance for any help.
