Michelle Bautista of WSS's Software Distribution passed along the
following information, via UCOP, from Apple representative Pat Silver:
UC's current license agreement with Apple covers only
commercially-released versions of the Mac OS. Thus, the Mac OS X
Public Beta is not covered by this agreement. According to Pat:
>Mac OS X Public Beta is available for $29.95 directly from the Apple

In addition, the current UC license agreement expires on October 1,
2000. There has been some early discussion of what UC departments
and/or affiliates might pay for the final release of Mac OS X, but
the pricing model and cost has not yet been set. (In early August,
UCOP's Jane Schoenfeld wrote that Pat Silver "expects that licenses
will cost about $20 each," but this is very much subject to change.)
