Apart from the very useful nslookup command, which provides
domain name if given ip address and vice versa,
<http://www.net.berkeley.edu/dcns/conrad/ipquery.html>
used to be a wonderful resource for finding out ip address,
node names, building & room number (supposedly; maintaining
that was a lost cause, but at least it provided a clue), and
more, but to quote from what's there now:
"Due to security considerations, this page is no longer available
to the general campus community. The data previously available from
this page is out-of-date.
"For up-to-date connection information, please send email to
hostmaster@nic.berkeley.edu. Be sure to include as much information
as possible about the connection(s) in question."
