Apple has made available some new resources for learning about its
next generation operating system, Mac OS X. These include:

       - A new "Mac OS X" tab in the top banner on Apple's Web site,
         http://www.apple.com/

Clicking this tab will leads you to Apple's Mac OS X home page,
which offers news, summaries, and in-depth information about this OS.
(Those seeking detailed technical information can also click the
         "Developer" link on this page.)

       - A new book: "Inside Mac OS X: System Overview"

This book can be purchased from Internet bookseller Fatbrain.com
for $12 (plus tax and shipping) at:

         http://www1.fatbrain.com/asp/BookInfo/BookInfo.asp?theisbn=DM10004226

While this book is oriented toward programmers, the description
on this page notes (somewhat accurately) that "those who aren't
programmers might also find it a worthwhile read, including those
wishing to evaluate Mac OS X as a possible platform for their
         enterprise."

P.S. When ordering from Fatbrain.com, enter the UC Berkeley
discount code "gobears" in the "Discount code (if applicable)"
field upon checking out. This should result in your receiving
both a 10-40% discount and free shipping.
