Letters & Science Computing Resources provides professional management of departmental servers running Mac OS X Server and Windows Server software. Although customers of our Annual Desktop Support program can take advantage of our centrally run servers for sharing files without additional cost, some departments may have specialized needs requiring a department-owned server. For example, we can manage servers for running a computing lab or hosting specialized applications.

Our server management services include the following:

• Planning and design of departmental server architecture.
• Setup and configuration of server hardware.
• Installation and configuration of server software.
• Creation and management of directory hierarchy and corresponding access privileges.
• Creation and management of user accounts and groups.
• Performance monitoring and tuning.
• Routine maintenance and patch management.
• Rapid, on-call response to emergencies and security incidents.
• Backup and restore of files.
