June 27, 2008—Another Phishing scam is making the rounds, this time attempting to trick Calmail users into giving up their user names and passwords.
The bogus email claims to be from a fictitious "CALMAIL IST SERVICES MAIL SERVER," but actually links back to a gmail address. In the typical fashion of such scams, both the salutation and signatures are generic and the body of the email asks for the user's email address and password on penalty of termination of one's "web email address."
No legitimate business will ever send out this kind of request, nor will they ask for any kind of password "validation" via email. Most of these messages will be rightly tagged as spam, but LSCR customers who for whatever reason receive this or any similar notification should disregard it or contact their LSCR consultant for advice.
