L&S bulk computer purchase program, September 2006

The L&S computer bulk purchase program for September 2006 is now underway (as of 9/19/06).

This program is open to all L&S departments, whether or not they use LSCR's computing support. Computers may be purchased for any departmental users or purposes, given the caveats below. Orders will be placed directly through The Scholar's Workstation by your department, using the College quote numbers referenced below.

We have good pricing on iMac and MacBook configurations from Apple; we are still working on pricing for Windows machines (as of 9/19/06). Note: The Apple pricing is available only until Tuesday, 9/26/06; order quickly!

Update (11/28/06):Dell pricing is available.

We keep this program as simple as possible. It may not be appropriate for everyone. In particular:

Apple

To order online:

  1. Go to The Scholar's Workstation web site and click on "Store for Departments"
  2. Click on "Submit E-Quotes – Apple & Dell"
  3. For the Equote Number, enter "L&S bulk purchase"
  4. For the Description, enter the model you wish to order (e.g. 13” MacBook w/ AppleCare Parts Agreement or 20” iMac w/ AppleCare Parts Agreement)
  5. Enter price: $1348 (iMac) or $1268 (MacBook)

Or, complete and print out the department order form (PDF) and fax it to 3-6201.
