September 13, 2005 – LSCR is pleased to welcome two new staff members this fall. Jesse Rankin comes to the LSCR web team from UC Berkeley's Neuroscience Institute, where he built and managed a variety of web sites. Rankin graduated from UC Berkeley in 2000 with a BA in Computer Science. His areas of expertise include PHP, MySQL, and database content management system design. Director of Computing Tom Holub commends him on his "high geek factor," while fellow team members E. Marie Robertson and Caroline Boyden are impressed with his ability to absorb most of their nonsensical commentary on things like science fiction and 80s punk music without visibly sneering. Jesse is based in 991 Evans.
Aric Huang joined LSCR as a workstudy in August. Aric is in his first year at UC Berkeley and plans to major in Film Studies. He'll be providing support for both the Ohlone and faculty desktop support teams. You'll find him in 943 Evans, when he's not running from computer to computer keeping our customers happy.
