Introduction
CalAgenda is the name of the electronic calendar community on the
UC Berkeley campus. The software that is used on the client computer
is called Oracle Calendar (formerly CorporateTime).
CalAgenda users can download the Oracle Calendar software from the
UC Berkeley CalAgenda web
site.
CalAgenda administrator roles
The CalAgenda team has a web page describing the
Administrator & Technical Support Roles for the CalAgenda
community here on the UC Berkeley campus. There are essentially
three different roles:
- Departmental administrator
- A staff person in your
department. Departmental administrators contact
CalAgenda-Admin@Berkeley.EDU when a new user needs to be added, when someone
leaves, when directory information changes, or when an account
password needs to be reset. Departmental administrators will also be
contacted with questions regarding charges or paperwork
for the department's accounts.
- Departmental technical contacts
- The person or people who install and manage the software on
desktop computers, and deal with technical problems. LSCR provides
technical support for CalAgenda to our supported departments. This
includes helping people install software and with problems using
CorporateTime and the service—in short, things not related to
account administration.
- Planning group representatives
- The person or people who meet with the CalAgenda team to help
plan changes and updates. For LSCR,
Mikael Hansen
and
Kate Roark handle this function.
Adding a new user
If you would like to a have new user created, mail
CalAgenda-Admin@Berkeley.EDUwith the following user information:
- Name
- Position
- Address
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- Chart string
When a user needs to be removed, the name and address would generally
be adequate. Please note that changing the name of a user may result
in the combination of deleting the old account, then creating a new
account.
Publishing resource schedules on the Web
Departments can now arrange to have a CorporateTime resource
calendar, such as a conference room, published on the Web, so that
everyone can view the calendar. (See an example of a
Meeting and Resource Calendar.)
Meeting information will be updated nightly from the CalAgenda
database to the Web. If you have a resource calendar that you would
like to be published, send the following information to
CalAgenda-Admin@Berkeley.EDU
- Exact name (as shown in a directory search) of the CalAgenda resource
- Number of months to display
- First month to display
- Contact information
Syncing your Palm with CalAgenda

for download.
