Eudora to Thunderbird migration issues

While the Thunderbird email client has an import utility for Eudora mail, some aspects of Eudora will have to be created manually in Thunderbird. Common migration issues that you may encounter are listed below.

Attachments

Not all Eudora attachments can be reattached to messages in Thunderbird. Eudora attachments will be available from Attachments folder and can be searched for by filename. The Attachments folder will also store Thunderbird attachments as they are opened.

Address Book

Single address entries will import into Thunderbird. Some email lists may not import correctly and may have to be added manually.

Filters

Mail filters will not import properly into Thunderbird; they should be recreated manually.

Signatures

Email signatures must be created in another application, then imported into Thunderbird. If you want a special font or color in your signature, use a program that can save files in HTML format (such as Dreamweaver or Microsoft Word. (Note that not all mail clients will properly display formats in signatures).
