Eudora is a richly featured e-mail client and offers many little "secrets".
The (shown to the left), and keys on a Macintosh keyboard (, and respectively in Windows) are unique in that another key must be pressed while holding down one or several of them.
To select all messages in a mailbox whose contents of a column in the message summary are the same, hold down (Macintosh) or (Windows) and click a column in the a message summary. For instance, click the column of a specific message summary to select all messages sent by that person.
In Eudora on the Macintosh, you can create a new message with an email address in the To line by -clicking any email address in a message or directory services window. You can do the same thing in the Windows version of Eudora by selecting the message and clicking on the button.
In Eudora, hold down when pasting (-- / --) to remove text styles from the text you're pasting.
In Eudora on the Macintosh, to return to the (open or closed) mailbox window of an open message, triple-click on the title bar of the message window. This is also likely to collapse the message window, if a double-click is configured so, in the control panel (formerly WindowShade). Double-clicking on the title bar in the Windows version will cause the message to expand to take up the whole screen.
To close all open windows, hold down (Macintosh) or (Windows) and choose (-- / --) from the menu. -clicking a window's close box has the same effect in the Macintosh version of Eudora.
To make a copy of a message into another mailbox, hold down (Macintosh) or (Windows) when you transfer the message.
You can highlight a given portion of a message you want to print and then hold down the key, which changes on the file menu to . This approach also works when you want to include only a part of an original message in a reply.
- in Eudora on the Macintosh moves the front window to the background rather than closes it.
While - checks the incoming mail in Eudora on the Macintosh, -- brings up a window offering several options for checking and sending mail, such as fetching just the message headers of your incoming mail.
