Ways to GiveCharitable gifts from alumni and friends continue to be critical in preserving and enhancing the strength of Berkeley's education programs. Giving can be completed on-line using credit card and a Secure Gift Form. Other forms of giving include outright gifts, pledged gifts, and planned gifts. Outright GiftsOutright gifts include gifts of cash, electronic funds transfer, securities, gifts-in-kind, and wire transfers. Please make gifts payable to the "UC Berkeley Foundation" and designate the College of Letters & Science or one of the College's 40 academic departments. PledgesPledges to the College should be made in writing and specify the amount and payment schedule. Pledges may be paid over a five-year period in annual, semiannual, or quarterly installments. Pledge reminders will be mailed on an agreed-upon schedule unless the donor requests otherwise. Payments may be in the form of cash, securities, or credit card charges. Planned GiftsPlanned gifts can take the form of charitable remainder trusts, pooled income funds, charitable gift annuities, retained life estates, charitable lead trusts, will bequests, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, paid-up life insurance policies, and outright gifts of real estate. Tax advantages and counting of such gifts differ with each gift. More information about planned giving... For further information, please contact: College Relations |
