ADVISING

The Department’s undergraduate Student Affairs Officer advises majors and minors on academic program plans and educational progress, and provides majors with College of Letters & Science and Office of the Registrar petition signatures. Declared majors meet with the Student Affairs Officer once a semester to draw up an academic plan for the following semester, at which time the Student Affairs Officer releases an adviser code (necessary for Tele-Bears access) to the student. The Student Affairs Officer can also provide information about honors, prizes and scholarships, independent study, and other departmental programs.

The Student Affairs Officer holds drop-in hours from 1-4PM, Monday through Friday. He can also be reached by telephone (510-642-1677) or email (ugprograms@theater.berkeley.edu).

The Department’s Faculty Advisors, Professor Mel Gordon and Professor Lisa Wymore, advise majors, minors, and other students on such topics as graduate school, career options, and the fields of theater, dance, and performance studies in general. Please see or call the department receptionist (510-642-1677) for the Faculty Advisors’ office hours. Individual faculty members are also available to discuss these matters.
