The Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies annually presents a series of free events comprised of visiting artist performances, lectures, panel discussions, and residencies. These programs provide a forum in which students and members of the community can interact with dance, theater, and performance luminaries and important scholars in the field. Past guests have included author Isabel Allende, Malcolm Purkey of South Africa's Junction Avenue Theater Company, Ratan Thiam of India's Chorus Repertory Theatre, Miami City Ballet Artistic Director Edward Villella, playwrights Erik Ehn, José Rivera, Mary Zimmerman, and Cherríe Moraga, choreographers Reggie Wilson, Pina Bausch and Trisha Brown, Canadian performance artist Robert LePage, performers from The Gate Theater of Dublin, and many others.
