About Us

PETER GLAZER, Associate Professor
Ph.D. Performance Studies, Northwestern University. Specializes in directing, adaptation, performance theory, 20th century American theater, and commemorative performance. Freelance director for the past 16 years, focusing on the development of original works at theaters nationwide including Berkeley Repertory Theatre, San Jose Repertory Theatre, Marin Theater Company, Seattle Repertory Theater, Syracuse Stage, and Northlight Theater in Evanston, IL. Writer, co-writer, and adapter of plays and musical theater pieces produced nationally including Woody Guthrie’s American Song; Heart of Spain: A Musical of the Spanish Civil War; and Foe, adapted from J. M. Coetzee’s novel. Winner of two Bay Area Theater Critics Awards and two Joseph Jefferson Awards (Chicago) for Best Director and Best Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Review and two Joseph Jefferson Awards for Excellence in Theater. Former production stage manager on numerous Broadway productions and Production Manager for Manhattan Theater Club.
