Suzanne Popkin
SUZANNE POPKIN specializes in the fields of trauma and memory; gender, race and critical theory; literature and philosophy; performance studies; and modern French, American, Polish and Russian literature. Her writing and teaching interests also include the intersection of literature, history and journalism, particularly in regards to American Slavery, the Holocaust and 9/11. Her articles have appeared in differences and Comparative Literature Studies. She is currently preparing her manuscript Shame; The Witnessing of the Holocaust for publication. French, Welsh - works on medieval French epic and romance, medieval French epics preserved in Middle Welsh, the interface between medieval French and Welsh cultures as seen in medieval French and Welsh Arthurian romances, the grail legends, and on Celtic and Indo-European mythology. Her publications include editions and studies of both the Paris Manuscript of the Chanson de Roland and the Middle Welsh version of that poem, Cân Rolant. (Ph.D. University of California, Berkeley)
