Looking at major developments in architecture, decorative arts, photography, and painting from Romanticism to post-modernism, this course addresses art and its social context in the last two centuries is what is now the United States.  Issues include patronage, audience, technology, and the education of theartist as well as style and cultural expression.  Field trips.
