Understanding Lifeways and
Biocultural Diversity in Prehistoric Japan
New Course Development
The results of our project can be used as an effective tool to stimulate new interdepartmental courses in East Asian archeology and to convey the excitement of archaeology to students. To facilitate this, we will develop two new courses on East Asian archaeology: Graduate seminar on East Asian Archaeology (Fall 2009), and Undergraduate Course on East Asian Archaeology, Early History and Material Culture (Spring 2010). These courses will be co-taught and cross-listed between Anthropology, History, Art History and/or EALC (East Asian Languages and Culture) departments. These new courses, taught by at least two faculty members in different departments, will also help foster a sense of community among faculty members and students of relevant fields on campus.
