Recieving Departmental or College Honors as an Letters and Science undergraduate requires dedication, hard work, and the support of one's department.

Earning Departmental Honors in Political Science, for example, a student must write an honors thesis in addition to earning a high G. P. A. The Honors Thesis is a demanding project, but highly rewarding if you have a strong interest in a particular topic. Honors recipients, like the one above, are entitled to wear a gold cord at commencement. They have a notation of honors in the commencement program, as well as on their diploma and official transcript.

Many undergraduates received College Honors for their course work in the Spring Semester of 2000. See the complete Letters & Science Honors List.
