Field Geology and Digital Mapping

The Earth and Planetary Science Department offers E P S 101, Field Geology and Digital Mapping, in which students map land using state-of-the-art technology. Professor George Brimhall equips them with pen computers, lasers, and G P S units accurate within one foot to create stereographic projections of the foothills near Berkeley.
