An classroom scene with instructor and students The Classroom Is Only the Beginning

In the College of Letters and Science, the classroom is the primary setting in which students learn. But education doesn't stop at the classroom door. There are many sites, both on and off campus, where L & S students can enrich their minds and extend their learning: in the labs, the archives, even the halls of Congress and on foreign affairs.

L & S students may earn credit by working closely with faculty on cutting-edge research projects (Undergraduate Research Programs), through internships in Washington, D.C. (UC Berkeley - Washington, D. C. Center), or through study in over 34 countries (Education Abroad Program), to name a few of the rich learning opportunities available to them.
