Image of protein transcription factor

Protein Transcription Factor T F I I D

Three-dimensional reconstruction of human transcription factor T F I I D (blue), bound to factors T F I I A (magenta) and T F I I B (green). This protein complex is essential for gene expression and regulation. The reconstruction was obtained using electron microscopy and single-particle image analysis of 4000 images of the complex by postdoctoral fellow Frank Andel in Eva Nogales's lab in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology.
