Mouse limb

Limb Development

Gene expression marks the sites of condensing cartilage (red) and the sites of forming joints (blue) in the developing skeleton. Limb from a 15 day mouse, stained for noggin (red) using a lacZ gene replacement of noggin coding sequence and magenta-gal stain. Blue stain in prospective joints by in situ hybridization to G D F 5 transcripts.

This is an example of research in the laboratory of Richard Harland in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology.
