The Executive Committee has general oversight of the welfare of the students of the College of Letters & Science and serves as a Committee on Educational Policy for the College. The main work of the Executive Committee involves review of requirements for departmental, group and field major programs, as well as those for minor programs. All proposals for changes to major programs must be submitted to this committee for approval, before publication and before they become effective.
