L&S Guidelines for Lecturer Salary Setting

Effective Oct. 1, 2007

Lecturer salaries are set based on experience at the time of hire, and must conform to Table 18, found on the APO website under the Compensation tab.

  • The lecturer minimum salary rate is the first step on the current table.
  • Effective Oct. 1, 2007, the University shall ensure that there are at least four steps on the salary scale between the minimum salary for Pre-Six NSF and the minimum salary for Continuing Appointees (Article 21.c.2).  Therefore, the continuing lecturer minimum is five steps higher than the minimum salary posted on Table 18.

Credit is given for prior college-level teaching experience. GSI or summer session teaching does not qualify.

Teaching credit (toward the 12th semester Excellence Review) and salary rates are department-specific.
